WhatsApp has recently declared that it will no longer support certain smartphones. Here is the full list of affected devices:

The popular messaging app WhatsApp has recently announced that it will be discontinuing support for a number of older mobile devices. This means that certain smartphone models won’t get the upcoming updates released by WhatsApp.

The list of affected devices includes those that run on iOS 9 and Android 4.0.3 or older operating systems, and Windows Phones running version 8.0 or older.

For those using an iPhone, the list includes the iPhone 4, 4s, 5, 5s, 6, and 6s. As for Android devices, this includes a wide range of Samsung Galaxy models (S3 Mini, S4 Mini, S4 Active, S4 Zoom, S5 Neo, and several others). Other devices include LG G2, LG G3 Beat, Sony Xperia M2, and M2 Aqua.

These devices will not get updates for WhatsApp from the 1st of January 2023 onwards. The company said that these phones do not have enough capacity to offer an experience similar to what newer devices can provide.

WhatsApp also said that they are working on making sure their messaging experience can remain consistent across all platforms and devices. This decision is part of their ongoing effort to make sure their users have the best possible experience when using the app.

It is important to note that this decision does not affect users who are already using WhatsApp on these older devices – they can continue to use the app until they upgrade to a newer device.

WhatsApp is one of the most used apps in the world, with more than 2 billion users sending messages every day. It is therefore no surprise that this news has been met with some disappointment from those who were looking forward to continuing using WhatsApp on their older phones.

If you are using one of these affected smartphones, you may want to upgrade your device as soon as possible or look for alternative messaging apps like Telegram or Signal that may still work on older operating systems.

Overall, this news is a reminder for us all to keep our phones up-to-date and ensure we are using the latest versions available in order to get the best experience out of our devices and apps.
